Christmas Celebration 2023

“Deck the halls with boughs of holly, tra lalala lalala”… In the air of Saint John’s Academy, the festive spirit resonated with the age-old tradition of the holly plant, a symbol of joy and peace. This Christmas, our academy was abuzz with excitement, mirroring the belief that bees in England hummed in honor of Jesus’s birth on that First Christmas. Our Christmas Program on December 15, 2023, was nothing short of magical, brimming with the joy and peace symbolized by holly.

The program commenced with the school choir showcasing their extraordinary talent in Christmas Carols. Their melodious voices set the tone for the evening, filling the hall with the essence of the festive season. Following this, the pre-primary section captivated everyone with a lively Christmas Mashup – Action Song. Their energy and enthusiasm were infectious, lighting up the faces of all in attendance.

An innovative and emotive performance titled ‘Boxes of Emotions’ was presented by the students of Class 4 and 5. This act portrayed a range of emotions associated with the holiday season, leaving the audience deeply moved. The Nativity scene, brought to life by a soulful choir and angelic dances, was a highlight of the evening. It was a beautiful rendition that captured the true spirit of Christmas.

Class 3 students added sparkle to the event with their ‘Sparkle Jolly’ dance, a performance that was as enchanting as it was energetic. The younger students of Class 1 and 2 then took the stage with ‘Feeling like Christmas’, a dance that perfectly encapsulated the excitement and joy of the season.

The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by our esteemed principal Dr. Zareen Rizvi, who expressed gratitude towards everyone who contributed to the success of the event. Director CV Innes then shared words of wisdom, extending thanks to the staff and students for their hard work and dedication. The evening’s festivities were further brightened by Santa’s visit to SJA, a delightful surprise that brought smiles to everyone’s faces.

As we wrapped up the Christmas Program, we were reminded of the Star of Bethlehem’s message of hope, peace, and goodwill to all mankind. This Christmas at Saint John’s Academy, we not only celebrated a festive tradition but also embraced the joy and peace that it symbolizes, hoping to carry it forward into the new year.
