SCHOOL CONCERT 2023

The SJA School Concert 2023 was held on 24th November 2023 at a glittering function at the Mitchell Ryan Memorial Hall.

Dr. Sumit D Liddle, Principal IPEM accompanied by his wife was the Chief Guest for the day. Mrs. & Mr. C.V. Innes, the Founders & Directors of Saint John’s Academy, graced the occasion with their presence along with a host of invitees, parents, Staff and Students.

The programme commenced with a soulful Hymn sung by the School Choir and a Welcome Dance was presented by the students of Class 5.

The action song, Life Cycle of Butterfly and a Fancy Dress Show were presented by the adorable Primary Section students of the School. ‘Invincible Forever’ (English skit) and ‘The Lost Fairy’ (Dance drama) drew great applause from an appreciable audience. These events are a wonderful opportunity to enact the amalgamation of Indian culture and the students of Classes 1 & 2 did full justice to it through their brilliant performances.

The Middle and Senior School Sections presented a delightful mixed of song, dance and drama.

A soulful prayer dance was performed by the girls of Classes 9 to12. Students of Classes 6 – 8 enacted a hilarious Kavi Sammelan (Kaviyon Ki Toli). The musical renditions by the School Choir set the tone of the event. The breaks between the performances were managed by the filler advertisements created for the parents, who were rejuvenated with memories of watching old TV ads from the past. The English play ‘The Boss came to Dinner’ highlighting the role of parents in our lives and the Hindi play (Mantra) highlighted the art of forgiveness which was appreciated by the audience. The Senior students executed a unique Mime Act through expressions and bold body movements without dialogues to narrate the story on role reversal.

The events were performed very well by the participants under the guidance of teachers.

The audience also had an opportunity to listen to musical skills of young artists of the School. The programme ended with a Vote of Thanks proposed by the Principal, Dr. Z. Rizvi.

The audience was treated to a brilliant spectacle of dance, drama and music during the day.
